Founded in 1995 in Bamenda as CAMLAT, CAMELS began when a small group of laboratory professionals returned from the IAMLT World Congress in Dublin determined to build a national body of their own. Thirty years on, it is Cameroon's leading professional association for medical laboratory science — an affiliate of the International Federation of Biomedical Laboratory Sciences (IFBLS) and the African Society for Laboratory Medicine (ASLM).
