CAMELS, is the leading professional Association for the Medical Laboratory Science profession in Cameroon, with closed to 2000 registered members represented in all the 10 regions of Cameroon.

Existing since 1995, CAMELS has within the past 20 organized over 22  National Scientific Conferences, across the 10 regions as well as many seminars and workshops,

Recently acquired landed property for the construction of a permanent secretariat, a Research Center and an ultra-modern multipurpose conference center.

​CAMELS , in collaboration with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science has offered scholarships to its members for on-line courses where over 30 members profited.

CAMELS has within the past years offered recommendation letters, and carried out verifications for authentication of professional status to its members , which has permitted most of them to gain international jobs in Europe, USA and UAE. permitted  most

WHAT WE DO

Mission and Objectives

The objectives of CAMELS are:
1- To design, support, advance and promote good scientific laboratory practice through development and adherence to high quality standards at all levels of the national health system in Cameroon

2- To design, support and promote standard curricular for training, supervision and mentorship towards the professional development of the Biomedical Laboratory Science profession in Cameroon

3- to support and promote ethical and professional values in the practice of the Medical Laboratory science profession in Cameroon

4-  To improve quality in the practice of the Medical Laboratory Science profession in Cameroon , through conferences, workshops, continuous professional education, exchange of ideas through development of partnerships with other sectors of the health care system within the nation and abroad.

THE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL.(NEC)

CAMELS is managed by a National Executive Council, NEC. This Council is headed by a President and a team of committed Professionals who organize and manage the affairs of the Association.

Only those who have been active as members for at least 5 years are eligible for elections into the NEC.The National Executive Council of the Cameroon Association for Medical Laboratory Science, CAMELS, is made up of the President, the vice, the SG, the Assistant SG, the Financial Secretary, the treasurer and the PRO who form a solid executive arm that plan, organise and execute programs within the organization.
